…finally, frustration looms…Stop, there is Hope!

It’s now time to give proven, scientific, chemical free methods a try to get back in control.

Cold pressed Extra Virgin organic oils are the new knights in shining armor, particularly for dry and sensitive skin types, as vocalized by dermatologists and hair care specialists world-wide. These natural wonders can work like magic, when included into your routine haircare to bring about visible changes that you won’t fail to notice!
But wait…not all oils are equal!

WHAT ARE COLD PRESSED OILS?

Cold pressing is a special, and more traditional way of extracting oils from organically grown seeds, fruits and nuts that doesn’t allow trans fats and other harmful chemical extractants to contaminate base oils.

This method of oil extraction excludes use of chemical solvents like hexane, or use of high temperatures which are often used methods to increase oil yield during processing. The cold-press method ensures a more natural, unsaturated mix of antioxidants, and other precious nutrients. Cold pressed oils are power-packed with essential nutrients, which can be tapped by our bodies if used in the right manner.

ARE COLD PRESSED OILS BETTER?

The quality of yield in cold-pressed oils are far superior compared to common method that deploys heating to increase the yield. The final product retains the natural texture, flavor, nutrients, and antioxidants. Trans-fats are avoided, and natural moisture is retained.

The trade-off however is their lower shelf life and instability at higher temperatures. Cold-pressed oils should not be stored for a long time, and they should always be protected from direct sunlight to avoid oxidation. This can be easily achieved by storing oils in dark bottles or by packing filled bottles in mono-cartons to avoid exposure.

GOOD FOR SCALP AND HAIR?

Various cold-processed extra virgin oils can be used on scalp and hair especially on dry and flaky scalp with dandruff. Cold pressed oils are naturally effective moisturizers. They are rich in omega-3, omega-6, and omega-9 fatty acids and other phytonutrients that act as a good hair mask. When used thoughtfully, they prevent and repair frizz, split-ends and also make hair easier to manage.
The natural anti-inflammatory agents in these oils help control scalp irritation and redness to soothe the skin. They also regulate sebum and sweat secretions from the scalp and improve tone and texture of the scalp and hair.

There are a host of natural anti-bacterial and anti-fungal phytonutrients in cold pressed oils. These helps fight the stubborn bacteria and fungi that cause a host of infections of hair and scalp resulting in pustules, blisters and dandruff.

Further, cold pressed extra virgin oils have anti-ageing properties that can even help in preventing premature greying, breakage, and hair fall. Regular application of cold-pressed oils can nourish the hair follicles, strengthen hair shaft and improve hair-quality and density.

ENSURING QUALITY STANDARDS

When it comes to choosing the right brand of organic oils, one should know the difference between USDA certified organic/ 100% organic and other commonly used ‘organic’ labels. USDA certification process is federally accredited and requires very stringent quality control and monitoring. So, not all ‘organic’ are the same! It may be a good practice to read labels carefully, and then make conscious choices.
