BE NATURAL, GO NATURAL: CHOOSING THE RIGHT BEARD OIL!

There was a time when men flaunted their beards with great pride. Then came the era of razors, which created a deep divide between the have and the have-nots.

How to choose beard oil

But just when the clean-shaven side looked set to gain the upper hand, a new product category has managed to revive the beard movement; The Beard Oil. No sooner was the beard oil launched, than the number of bearded men rose exponentially, and today their numbers have reached that of yester years.

So, what is so special about Beard oil? Why are they needed? How to choose the right one? And are they really effective? Let’s find out.

What is beard oil?

Just like hair oils or massage oils, beard oil is used by men for exclusive application on the beard. Beard oils nourish the hair follicles, and the skin underneath and promote healthy hair growth and texture.

Which are some of the good beard oils?

Today, there are many brands of readymade beard oils and creams on the market. Unfortunately, most of these products are made from chemicals that sometimes do more harm than good. Hence, it is recommended to use a blend of natural essential oils and carrier oils to give volume and thickness to your beard.

One such example is a mixture of Cedarwood Essential oil and Olive oil. Cedarwood oil has a mild woody masculine smell which adds to its charm. Also, it is extremely easy to apply –simply create the blend as recommended below and apply it directly to the beard and the skin underneath.

How to make the blend?

Add 6 ml/10 ml of organic cold-pressed Cedarwood essential oil to 100 ml/250 ml of cold-pressed extra-virgin Olive oil to create the right blend. A few drops of this mixture must be taken on the palms, rubbed thoroughly, and then applied gently to the beard and the skin below.

How to choose the right beard oil?

The following things must be kept in mind before choosing any beard oil:

  • Its ingredients?

Most off-the-shelf beard oils contain synthetic ingredients. While many are known to stimulate hair growth and smoothen the strands, they are not without their side effects. Essential oils like Cedarwood oil blended with Olive oil could do the same job without any side effects.

  • What are the side effects?

Synthetic oils and creams sometimes cause irritation and itchiness. If used without doing a patch test, they may even cause hair loss. Hence, natural ingredients are always better on the face, given that the facial skin is very thin and sensitive.

  • Effectiveness of the ingredients Cedarwood oil is known to rejuvenate hair follicles, reduce skin inflammation and stop hair fall. It is an excellent moisturizer that eases conditions like acne and eczema.

However, care must be taken to ensure that both the oils are cold-pressed and organic for the best results. For instance, one could use a blend of Camia Cedarwood Essential oil (extracted by steam distillation) and Camia Extra-Virgin Olive oil which is made using the cold-pressed method. Both these oils are USDA-certified organic and procured from sustainable sources through fair trade practices. Also, these oils are free of silicones, hexane, parabens, sulfates, phthalates, and animal testing! This makes them not just friendly to your beard, but also to the world around you!

So, if you are one of those men who pride in flaunting your masculine facial hair, say yes to Camia, and feel the magic!
